The Un-Engineered Lot

The youth of India, who are from Science background can be divided into two categories- those who have become Engineers and those who are from science background but could not take up Engineering in graduation. The number of people who became engineers is apparently more than those who could not become engineer.
Now, say there are 100 engineers, everybody knows that 50% of them (if working) are in IT industry, irrespective of the branch they are from and rest, are unemployed! When i'm saying this, I don't mean to disrespect anyone. I personally feel that the world is doing this, earning, but not doing what they want to do. Managers are there who wanted always wanted to become dancers,  people who have degree in mass comm had wanted to become pilots, lawyers wanted to become singer etc etc..
The people who are working in IT industry, as software developers, software testing engineers, say that their only regret in life is that they took up engineering. N this is something that you can hear them saying very frequently..in almost every conversation related to their career. They feel that their life is totally messed up, simply because they are working in the IT industry, despite being from a core branch.
If they are asked to give career counselling to 12th pass students, they say this one line "bhai Engg mat karna!!"
Now, lets talk about those who, for some reason, could not get admission in engineering. They took admission in some course but after a year or so, realized that they were not loving the field. Now since they did not have any other option, they continued in the same field. After completing their education, they got a not-so-good job. The "not-so-good" tag, it was given by the Indian society, where all jobs, other than those which are Engineering related, are considered "average". The daily taunt of relatives and the regret of not becoming engineer keeps daunting them all the time. This gives them a feeling of jealousy and they themselves start considering them inferior to engineers.
On the other hand, the engineers consider every such person to be very creative and talented. Because they feel that these people at least pursued their dreams. The truth is, however, that there are very few people who are pursuing their dreams, you can even count them on fingers.
What i want to say is, no job is superior or inferior. Do what you love doing and enjoy every day. Regrets won't take you anywhere. Tomorrow is still going to come and you, only you have to face it. You cannot change the past, and no one can take your tomorrow from you. Just live it! So that tomorrow, you can be proud of yourself!

  1. Title of the Article suits best.
Plotting of the Article was changing flawlessly , 1st part showing the unhappiness of those who didn't get in to Engineering , then 2nd part is showing how a fully skilled non IT engineer is working in support projects and in the end everyone is regretting.
Good message in the end :)
